If you’re looking for the best, most “normal” gluten free treats in Atlanta, your first stop MUST be Hell Yeah Gluten Free!
This sweet little bakery is right off DeKalb Ave. Not only do they have gluten free treats, but also dairy free and vegan options that are also incredible. As someone who is 100% gluten all of the time and eats very little dairy, this is literally my DREAM!
When you walk into their little shop, you immediately feel like family. The HYGF team is always happy to recommend new and regular pastries and help you make up your mind on what to take home. Here are a few of my favorite treats:
- The chocolate chip cookies are perfection. Crunchy on the outside, but soft and chewy in the middle. In fact my family, who is half gf and half lucky people with 0 food allergies, will fight over these suckers. They are that good!
- Their brownies are absolutely out of this world!! During the holiday season, they fix them with a creamy peppermint whip on the top (which is worth the trip on its own!). Out side of the holidays, these brownies are drizzled with the yummiest chocolate and rainbow sprinkles- taking you right back to elementary school with one of those cosmic brownies that we thought were so good. I don’t know about y’all, but when I had one of those as an adult, those did NOT hold up. Trust me, the Hell Yeah Gluten Free brownies are the real deal!!
- The biscuits, oh my goodness! When I went gluten free years and years ago, I missed having a good, fluffy biscuit on Sunday mornings. Finding HYGF biscuits has been a game-changer! Now I buy packets of their frozen biscuits so I can enjoy a biscuit with the rest of my family. They are huge, fluffy on the inside, crunchy on the outside, and oh-so yummy. They are so good that you can eat them naked, use them as the perfect base for a breakfast sandwich or enjoy them with butter and jam.
In addition to their amazing treat, their mission and customer service keep me coming back time and time again. Their tagline is literally “we believe working alongside people from diverse backgrounds and stages of life makes our business better.” I mean, come on!! They treat their employees and patrons with respect. All in all, Hell Yeah Gluten Free is the type of business that makes me want to support them, both for the quality of their baked goods, but also for the environment they’ve created. Gluten free Atlantians are lucky to have HYGF!!
